Jebus Offends

I used the word "Jebus" at the absurd TheologyWeb. I got one of these:

I asked what I did to offend. The moderator replied:

"It didn't "supposedly" offend anyone, it's against policy here to allow derogatory references to Jesus."
Just how insecure are these jerks?

Tell you what, "Dr. Jack Bauer" and anyone else out there troubled by the word "Jebus".

I want you to think about the worst thing you can possibly imagine. Something horrific and disturbing. Something illegal and unnatural. The kind of image that will scar you; keep you awake at night; maybe even make you throw up in your mouth a little bit. That's good. Hold that thought...

Now imagine I'd called Jesus that.

There - all of a sudden "Jebus" doesn't seem so bad, does it?

Try "Hey Sous" and see what they do with that.

Thanks Drew!

A search for "Hey Sous" led me to this marvelously whacked out discussion of the name "Jesus", which appears to include a scolding of Spanish people for not speaking English properly.

Aaaah I love the 'net.

Best to you - have a glorious Sunday :)

Crikey, and all this has just awoken a memory from deep in my childhood...

Back when I was at school we were sent along to church occasionally. This one minister had a rather pompous and laconic voice, and he used to go on and on about "Cheese-ass"...

Or "The Baby Cheese Arse" as he became known to us.

Wow. That was like an acid flashback, or something...

Stupid people are always entertaining. So care to explain why you think it's ok to insult Sarah Palin while calling everybody else jerks?

Hey Lil' Pixie!

How did I insult Sarah Palin, exactly?

Please explain.

I guess it's only okay to be biased as long as it's in favor of white conservative Christians. Just ask Keith Oberman how that works.
