A Bunch of C*****

My close, personal, showbiz, celebrity friends Christopher Brookmyre & Billy Franks appeared together at The Liquid Room, Edinburgh, on 9 September 2008. Here they are dueting on a nice little number about politics & religion in the modern age. This is definitely NSFW...

Chris was reading from his latest comic crime caper "A Snowball In Hell", in which a serial killer takes out Z-list celebrities in his own horrific and horrifically funny "reality tv show" for the Youtube generation...

'Dazzling comic skills' The Times.. 'Sharply satirical and poignantly funny, this is a gripping and highly entertaining read.' Time Out.. 'Chris Brookmyre is a genius.' Mirror.. 'Brookmyre has no equal.' Maxim.. 'Achingly funny' Sunday Times.. 'Exhilerating linguistic fluency and keenly subversive intelligence' Scotland on Sunday

Meanwhile Billy, playing his first gig in Scotland in 20 years, talked about songwriting and his new multiple-award winning indie film "Tribute This". Here's the trailer for your delectation.

Interesting factoid: Chris Brookmyre is the first president of the Humanist Society, Scotland. Trippy or what? I'm not sure I hold with "Humanism" as a movement. I don't need a bunch of effete french intellectuals telling me what to think... ;>

I'm not sure where you get your ideas on humanism, PTET, but the last thing humanists do is tell people what to think. Humanists ask people to think for themselves and to question received opinion.

There are no effete French intellectuals in the HSS, I'm sorry to say, although they'd be very welcome, as is anyone open-minded, intellectual or not.

Hej man,

Phone was knackered. Lost your number. Gimmi a call. Sandy.x.

PS, everybody tells everybody what to think, religious, humanist or otherwise. As human beings it's all we ever do when we open our mouths so let's not be naive.

See, I'm doing it right now.
S.x.

Tim!

Thanks for your comment. Have a kitten

I was *joking* about humanism. Sorry! I need to work on my comedy writing skills. Either that or stick "satire" in green flashing lights at the top of each page :)

All are welcome here.

Even the neutral Humanist menace, with your secular "peace" and "love" ;>
